Howdy From Central Oregon

My name is Kathy, I was a member of the old german shepherd bulletin board, many years ago. I currently have 1 GSD, Sasha, who is 12 years old. Sasha has been my companion since she was 6 weeks old. Members of the old web board saw us through Sasha's knee surgery when she was about 2, the beginnings of Pannus, and had all sorts of info when I was looking into changing over to a RAW diet. I spent hours reading and learning on that site!

These past several months Sasha has not been doing well, and I fear I may not have much time left with her. I do not want to be dog-less, ever again, so, we have a new member joining my family next Saturday!

This puppy will be 8 weeks old Monday, a girl. It has been a long time since I've had a baby around! I'm still struggling with a name, like I haven't had 8 weeks to think on it!

Finding this forum is like finding a long lost friend!

Hi, and welcome back. So sorry to hear Sasha is not doing well. What's wrong? Congratulations to your new puppy. Looking forward to seeing your family through pictures and getting to know you. I was around several years ago prior the the board changing ownership as well and now am back. Didn't realize how much I really missed it. So, have fun and hopefully Sasha will be around many more wonderful years.

Kathy, I like how you said finding this forum is like finding a long lost friend. I know what you mean about the forum. I feel like I'm among friends when I'm here.

Your words about Sasha brought a tear to my eye and then a smile to my face. I'm sorry your time together may be limited but very happy you had eachother for 12 years.

We drove to Washington, about a 3.5 hour trip last Saturday. I got to meet her white mom and sable dad, gorgeous dogs! I was very impressed with the breeder and all her animals.

After 8 weeks of struggle, I finally came up with a name, thanks to my best friend's son! Her name is Jade. At 9 weeks at her first visit to my vet, she weighed 16.1#

I'll get a picture posted as soon as I can figure out how to do it from my phone.

I managed to sign on to photobucket and create an account, but there apparently isn't any way to edit and resize my pictures. I'm hoping this is a link to one of them.

You can definitely edit and resize pictures in Photobucket. You can also change your default upload settings so your pictures automatically upload at the maximum picture posting size of 800 x 600.
