New to the forum

Hello, all! I've been lurking the forum for a while (lots of great info here!) and decided to go ahead and introduce myself and my GSD.

Onyx is my first German Shepherd but certainly not my last! He just turned 8 months old yesterday and has been truly an amazing dog to work with. Very smart and eager to please. We've been working basic obedience since I brought him home at 8 weeks and we started herding at 4 months. He's excelled at both and I'm eager to try other activities such as agility, tracking, and docking diving. Eventually I plan to start training in personal protection but right now we're just working with tugs.

So far he's been everything I wanted in a dog. Handler focused, excellent off lead, discerning, aloof with those outside his family, rock solid nerves, and very handsome! Couldn't ask for a better dog.

I'm a bit of a fanatic about photographing him but since there's a separate place for pictures, I'll save most of them for over there and just put one here.
