Default Hello from Texas!

Hi everyone! My name is Kevin I'm In the military currently stationed at Fort Hood. I've been around German shepherd's almost my whole life except for the last 6 years. In 2005 my Gs Samson died of old age he was 18, it broke my heart. Now that I have a family I have decided to get another one, I pick him up in a few weeks So my family and I are very excited, any tips and info on food and training would be greatly appreciated thanks ahead of time and I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Welcome and keep us updated!

I'd make sure to read up on the GSD Puppy Primer Tips

PLUS make sure you read this --> How to find a puppy! so are able to discuss the important issues with your breeder.

Make sure you remember to post pictures!

Hello and welcome from an Austinite living in Dallas.

A tip on food:
If you're on a budget at all, check out Precise, a brand of food made here in Texas of all USA-ingredients. They've never been involved in a recall and make good quality food. Since it's made here in TX we can get it at a lower price point than comparable foods like Wellness and Blue Buffalo that have to be shipped from out of state.
Precise can be found in places like Pet Supplies Plus or other pet supply stores (not petsmart petco). Go with the Large Breed Puppy or Foundation formula. It's about $40 for a 44lb bag.
