Default Frank is a Newjack

This website is tough to maneuver through!!

Im new to it, obviously. And new to GSD ownership. I have had labs my whole life but decided to make the switch to a shepherd. I got an all black male, and Today is his 11 week birthday. So far we've had our ups and downs, he had roundworms a few weeks ago, then last week he must have found a nyquil capsule on a walk or something because he could not stay awake for more than 15 seconds at a time. The morons at the emergency clinic kept suggesting that i fed the dog marijuana. (i think it was because i was wearing a tye dye shirt. Very offensive since I havent done that since High school)
So $600+ and a night in the clinic later they still had no ideas. Needless to say I will be going elsewhere if ever needed again.

We have gone though the first few weeks of puppy kindergarten and that is going fair to well. He has done very well with sit, come, and jumping on people is way down. Laying down and behavior on a leash is a different story.

He has done pretty **** well with house breaking, there are streaks he goes on without having an accident for days, then there is other days where he seems to just give up and go all over the house.

He is the most high energy dog I have ever owned, sometimes it worries me how crazy he can get. Mostly he is a terrorist in the mornings, then calms down throughout the day.

Im looking forward to him being the best dog I have ever owned, but ready for him to be done training already!! Puppies are a handful.

Welcome. Your Not alone. Mine goes crazy too. What I've learned here is that it takes time, but it does get better.

Welcome Frank! I'm a new GSD owner as well. We just finished our first puppy class and recently started with Obedience 1. I don't know if the training ever ends, but at almost 7_months old now, my pup has grown up FAST! You'll get through this challenging phase quickly and look back wondering what happened to the "little" pup you once had.

Apparently that was Veterinary "tie dye profiling" due to the discriminatory treatment relating to the shirt.

Good luck with the pup, and welcome aboard!
