Smile Hello from mo (have question about my puppy)

Hello I'm from MO and just got a puppy. I was wondering if anyone on here could help me. I got my puppy from a lady who got him and said she could not handle him. She said the mom was a german shepherd and there was a 50 chance the dad was a german shepherd and 50 chance a lab. I see german shepherd in him but i'm worried he is way to small for his age range I took him to the vet and the vet said he weighs 8 pounds and is between 8 to 10 weeks old he was the runt and had roundworms pretty bad I just gave him his first dose of deworm a couple days ago I was wondering if he could still grow to his potential are if he was mixed with a smaller breed i will try and get a pic of him on here tomorrow thanks so much

Welcome to the forum and yes, he can now grow to whatever size he is destined to. Worms stunt their growth, but I do believe if they are gotten when the dog is young, they'll get their natural size.

Make sure you keep in contact with your vet. Those first shots are very important. You don't want your pup to get distemper or anything fatal.

Welcome to the forum and we always love pictures!

Labs are pretty big too, so no matter what you should end up with a large dog. Our GSD's are only supposed to be around 80 pounds (for a male) and smaller for a female.

Did you check out the puppy section with all the growth charts and comparisons?

Hello and Welcome, I'm sure that your puppy is going to be a little love bug no matter how he turns out.

I had a shepherd/ lab? girl for 14 years and she was a lovely dog. She had some health problems at first but quickly overcame them and lived her life as a pudgy, happy, good girl.
