I am about to purchase my first GSD. I'm looking at an import. How do I know that it is a true import? So many frauds out there I just want to make sure I get what I'm paying for. Thanks in advance.

I agree, and why did the breeder import a litter/ or did they bring in a pregnant bitch? Imported doesn't mean a better pup...not sure why that is important. If you trust the breeder, then you trust what they tell you. Otherwise many more to choose from....

Ask for references for past clients and contact them asking if they are happy with their dealings with this person. If these are showlines, 1500$, imported or bred domestically from a good breeder that health tests and titles their dogs is a good price.
If you have reservations and doubts about the breeders honesty, I'd skip and go somewhere else.
