Happy New Year, all. What a great forum! Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am mom to Bentley who happens to be an 11-month old German Shepherd. He's a fabulous rescue from MidAtlantic German Shepherd Rescue who was found running the streets of Baltimore with his little sister and both were scheduled to be destroyed in less than 24 hours before MAGSR stepped in. He was only 4 months and 40 lbs when we adopted him this past June and it was a shaky start with his supposed kennel cough actually being severe pneumonia which landed him a 2-night stay at the hospital after being home with us for only 3 days. I just have to say it was amazing how quickly he had endeared himself to us and it was quite the scene with my four young kids sobbing and clinging to me as they took Bentley out of the exam room. The reunion was priceless however, his reaction proved to us that he knew we were his family now and he was returning HOME.
![]() Now it's been almost 7 months and an additional SIXTY + POUNDS later. He's just an incredible and gorgeous dog, it's difficult to fathom no one wanting him. I'm, however, forever grateful for their loss |

Welcome and bless you for taking a rescue into your life and giving him the love he deserves!
