Hello from CT :)

Hi! LONG time lurker here, figured I'd introduce myself. Don't have a GSD to introduce YET, but we're waiting on our puppy to be born any minute now. My phone has been glued to my hand the last few days, waiting for word on my Christmas present! We are getting our puppy from a breeder that I haven't seen mentioned but once or twice on here, but I've known her casually for 2 years, and feel confident that she's the right breeder for us!

I feel like I know all of you and your dogs from reading here all the time ever since we decided on a GSD. Love seeing the pics and reading the stories, and the sense of friendship that owning this breed brings.

Isn't it exciting?! I could hardly wait for each of my pups! Good luck and share pics. Are you getting a male or female?

Brenda - no idea if we're getting a male or female yet. This is our first GSD (not first dog) and I'm leaving it up to the breeder as to which puppy we get. I trust her. She knows that I'm seriously considering doing schutzhund (she's extremely active in it) and/or agility, so it's all up to her. It is very exciting! I'm driving myself crazy with what-ifs right now. We've wanted this puppy for so long I'm scared something will happen!

Maggie Rose, I'd venture to say I've read most of what's been posted within the last 6 months-certainly, and on and off for the last 2 years

I feel like I'm prepared, but we all know that once puppy sets foot in the house I'll forget...lol. Just like with a human baby.

Thanks again for the welcomes! I will post pics as we go! I know from lurking how that's expected...haha.

Thank you Caitydid! I think the only club near me is Quinebaug, and I'm not even sure if they're accepting members or if I'd fit, but I have been to one of their meetings and a breed survey. Everyone I've met so far seems nice and I loved watching them work their dogs. I'm close to Westerly, but I haven't checked in RI for clubs yet.

Lots of good gsd people in CT! I'm originally from Westport but now I'm in TX. I really miss Abbott's in Noank!!

I live in North Stonington. I'm originally from SC but have been here in CT for the last 9 and a half years.
