Hello everyone,
I found this site from a google search doing research on Female GSDs when are they ready to bred. You see I have no experience with Female GSDs other than when I was 14 and will be looking at one today from a family member of a breeder she is 4months old. I had one briefly I am now 47yrs old. I joined the military when young and couldn't have a dog traveled to much. Finally in the late 1990s I picked up my first GS for the purpose I always loved and had just GSs when young it's the only dog I want, also bought him for protection because I worked late at night in some secluded places needed someone to watch my back while I worked on equipment. Well that dog was great named Kimba and started his protection training but never completed it because of a rare disease I prolong his life for another 4yrs with the help of IMO the best UC DAVIS Vet. but finally had to be put to sleep. After that it took me another 5-7yrs and a 5yr old son that I wanted protection around the house to even consider another Dog Kimba's death hurt that much. So now I have Thor, his temperament is perfect he is like Kimba easy to train maybe even better he finished something Kimba never got a chance to complete his Hundeausbildung Personal Protection Dog Certification as was one of the best if not the best in his class. Thor is now 7 1/2 years old so it's time to look for another it takes up to 3yrs to get another trained like Thor. Anyway I don't know how females will do in this type of training so If I get her should at least get up to the advance obedience training she is AKC certified Thor is not. The problem by looking at this site it's not easy to bred if I want a male later on from Thor's offspring and there's much work to do......so will update later thanks for reading.....here's some pictures of Thor PS…did I mention Thor completed his PPD training with only sight I one eye he is blind in the other.
