Smile 1st Time GSd Owner, Experienced Dog Owner

Hello everyone! My name is Angela and I'm 29, married, and from Northeast Ohio.

I registered a couple of weeks ago after watching the Urgent forums for a while to try to adopt a local rescue GSD. That hasn't panned out, but my husband and I have found a GS pup that we are picking up tomorrow .

I'm very excited to have the puppy experience. My husband had a GSD as a kid, and we currently own 3 mutts that are all rescues, so a puppy is new territory for us.

We're exceptionally excited for tomorrow though ! I think this forum will definitely be a help to us, in our new adventure with a puppy.

We have a pretty crazy full house. We have 3 dogs already a pair of sisters we saved from the pound that are lab and coonhound mixes and are 4 years old and a boxer lab mix that is 2 years old. We also have 10 cats, 5 chickens and a rabbit. Needless to say this puppy is our last addition for quite a long time.

Anyway, this forum seems brimming with information we can definitely use to help us with the new puppy, so I am sure I will be posting =D!

Also, a pic of the puppy Winston (or Saxon, we haven't decided yet!):

**Yes, he's a panda .

Hi, and welcome. Congratulations to your new puppy. As you have probably already seen, there is all sorts of information on this board about raising puppies, etc. Have fun!!

Well, firstly we don't have kids. That helps.

Second, both of our brothers live with us, and they help with everyone .

Third, we have a set daily schedule for maintenance, feeding, walking, attention !

Fourth, the cats are a bigger pain in the butt then the dogs :P.

Honestly, I'm not very sure. I know the mom had 2 panda puppies though. I met both the mom and the dad, and sa his litter mates and decided he was too cute to not take him. I felt bad for him too, the breeder said when she asked online about the pups people told her to cull them . Luckily she couldn't do it.

Pandas aren't an everyday occurrence. It must be fate!

I have one more closeup of his face from last saturday when we went to the breeders house to meet him. They had just eaten when we got there, so it was naptime and he fell asleep in my arms !
