Seasons Greetings from some newbies!

Hello all! New to the forums but not the breed. We are getting our newest member of our family on Christmas eve. A male, his name will be Cabo and he'll be 8 weeks upon delivery. We had to put our first dog down the day after Thanksgiving. Mojo was his name. Almost 12 years old he was. An absolutely amazing pure bred German Shepherd! Loyal, loving, protective, we were trully blessed to have him in our family. It was the most difficult thing my wife and I have ever done. The loss we felt was unbareable - so we did what we had to - we searched out another Shepherd to fill our hearts with joy.
We are also Jeep people and I spend time browsing Jeep forums. I figured I would look for GSD forums and came across this one. Our first time around with our first dog, this kind of thing didn't exist. Everything we knew about GSD's and Mojo we learned from books, magazines, and good ol' fashioned trial and error. Looking forward to reading and posting with other German Shepherd enthusiasts and learning more about the breed.

Thanks. Yeah, this I'm familiar with. "Pics or it didn't happen" as they say in the Jeep world. This is our Cabo at 3 weeks:

Hello and Welcome, sorry about the loss of your boy Mojo, he is running free at the bridge now. Congrats on little Cabo, I'm sure he will give you lots of new memories to cherish.

Welcome! For some reason - can't see the pic. But I am sorry for you loss and happy for your addition!

Jeeps, and GSD's! You sound just like my home! Hubby Jeeps and we love GSD's (and labs).

What Jeep forum are you on? Where are you located Geographically? If you are in the MD, PA, VA and you Jeep - perhaps we have crossed paths...

Thanks for the welcome! Not sure about the pic - wonder if it is viewable for anyone else? We are on the west side of Missouri. Blue Springs - the 'burbs about 20 min east of Kansas City, MO. I most frequent jeepforum.com (JeepN4kc) and to a lesser extent jeepgarage.org (bradley4kc). We have a lifted '07 WK (our second one) and a '11 KK.
German Shepherds are, IMHO, THE dog to have as a family member. Smart, loyal, powerful, protective, beautiful.
