Default Heya from Virginia!

Hello everyone!

Super excited to be on this forum! I've stalked it in cognito for quite awhile, but felt joining here wouldn't feel complete without my very own land shark!

Speaking of the landshark...

Meet Reeves!

He's an American x West German Working Line cross, and my dad "surprised" me with him for [early] Christmas! (: Actually, my dad has wanted a Shepherd for quite some time but he never felt comfortable training wise. I recently moved up with him, and because I've done competitive obedience, agility, bite work and some narcotics training, he knew he had no reason to not get a Shepherd now.

Dad didn't want a full blown working line, (my nerdy addiction), but that's okay cause Reeves is proving to have all the right stuff so far!
He's a moose though. 21.6 lbs at nine weeks old. Really heavy bone and all that good stuff. We just picked him up today, but he's adjusted quite well. Only peed in the house once (on the concrete by the door at least) and that was my fault for not moving fast enough when he woke up from a nap. He's a great pup! Already takes his Shepherding duties seriously. (Meaning, I'm the worst person on the planet if I go to the bathroom by myself), and honestly I wouldn't have it any other way
So without further ado:

Pardon the quality, iPhone was all I had at the moment!

Hoping to do SAR with him in the future, as it's been a goal of mine for quite some time, but I'll have to see where his drives go.

I can’t believe no one posted you a hello & welcome to the board. Well, let me be the first. You’re right about Reeves being a moose. At that age my Rumi was around 15#. Enjoy his puppyhood. Like everyone here says, it goes by way too fast.

Thanks guys!

@Mahhi22: It does! He's already mastered Sit, and is starting to learn to go to the door to go outside, planning on getting bells or something to clarify his "I need to potty" signal. He's almost 30 pounds and I've had him a week almost.

It is going by way to fast!

He's a handsome dog. (Scarlett said too bad he's too young for her... )

We had a dog who used to ring a bell when she needed to go out. She would also ring it when she wanted to go outside to fool around...she would ring it when she wanted attention...she would ring it just to get on our nerves (I swear she KNEW it did!) We were SO well trained on that bell. BUT, she never had an accident. When we got Scarlett, we just let her out on somewhat of a schedule and bypass the bell entirely. She was older when we got her though...The bell worked great with a younger dog though...
