Smile Sammie the GSD

Hi, my name is Katie and my DH and I are 25 from Ohio and the proud owners of a 7 month old GSD named Samantha ( we call her Sammie).
DH is a police officer so GSD was the only dog for him But she is not a Police dog just a warm cuddly person waiting at home when he gets there after work. She is an awesome dog and from what I've been reading very laid back for her breed. She is not all that hyper for being 7 months old but I attribute most of that to her trainer. She went to live with him when she was about 10 weeks old and we really only got her back about a month ago. She listens very well and for the most part is housebroken. We also have two cats a male and a female and the male is her best friend and playmate. Altough her playing can get a little rough at times and we have to tell her to "leave it". I have never had a dog before so there was a lot to get used to. I am also a lover of my sleep so I do not do well with waking up early in the morning to go outside. We have a huge back yard so she has plenty of room to run and toys and bones to keep her happy. We are however having some issues with the first christmas tree experience. ( She thinks the ornaments are something to play and chew on.) I can get really discouraged and sometimes frustrated dealing with puppy behavior and sometimes can not wait till she is a little older and less puppy-ish. I love her with all my heart and can not imagine my life without her though.
