Wendy and Rita

Hi, I am Rita - the new owner of Wendy Darling; a 14 week old, 35 lb, sable GSD.

I am not new to GSD's, counting 14 in total since I was about 4 years old. I lost my 11 year old GSD Kayla Marie Fabulous to natural causes just this year before Mothers Day. I was absolutely destroyed. She passed quietly.

She had severe food and pollen allergies but was a wonderful family member, babysitter, and Shutzhund (Level III) bodyguard! I never wanted to see another GSD again - those dark brown almond eyes would bring me to tears.

I mourned, and then decided that there was a HUGE empty space left by Kayla, and I needed a smart dog. Hubbie has a Choco Lab - but she is only there for looks; no brains.

Hubby found my Christmas

gift early. We brought home Wendy D from a breeder in Cumberland MD. She started as a shy little girl, but has begun to get her confidence and explore new things. She has no experience living in suburbs, no leash training, no collar training and is not confident yet. I have my game plan, and I am ready to apply a lifetime of knowledge into making my little diamond in the rough into a big strong Lady!

I have been looking at all the photos and stories and finally decided to stop lurking

and start participating where I can.

Welcome! Glad to have you with us and that you have someone to fill the void (not replace Kayla) in your life!

As you will hear, we love pictures here and would love to see your new little girl!

This is cropped for size - and she was younger... she doesn't stop moving to get a good current shot!

Trigger is my former Foster Pup.... He is 6 years old and is about 95 lbs... he's a tall one. Wendy and he just met and will be hanging out with me this weekend!
