Glad to see so many beautiful dogs on here.
We are the proud guardians of Bacci a 15 weeks old Czech purebred GSD. Bacci's sire (Rudy Fihrak) is a dark sable workline and his Dam (Optima Mineo) is a beautiful titled award winning showline west german. We aspire to give Bacci a wonderful life by making sure he is healthy and very well socialized around other animals and children. This forum seems to be a great place to start... Shanna and Moe |

Dear all, thank you so much for your warm welcomes.
I'm still trying to figure out the site and navigate the different sections of it. Bacci just started obedience classes and he's doing great. However, during his assessment there has been an issue trying to get him socialized with other dogs. Based on the trainers feedback, he seems to be unpredictable around other dogs! One day he will play and have fun the next day he barks and actually lunges (i guess to bite). The trainers seem to blame it all on genetics and his early days around his dam who had been traumatized having 4 dead puppies in her litter of six. What should I do to help him overcome the possibility of fear aggression? I don't wont to diagnose it as such especially that he is fine around all humans (not sure about kids since I'm very cautious after the situations with dogs). Does anybody know if i can get some guidance on here? am I posting in the right forum? |
