Talking Soon to be GSD owner :)

My name is Amber. I am currently stationed in Germany with my 9mo old son who LOVES animals but is still learning to be gentle, my two tuxedo boy kitties Teddy bear and Kaiser, and my husband. Me and my husband are buying a white german shepherd male puppy and I get to meet him tomorrow. I will not be officially bringing him home until November 12th though so I am keeping busy with research and buying so much stuff to spoil him with. I would never normally buy a dog but the German community has problems letting Americans adopt and I was trying really hard to find an older dog love but puppies need love too! Can't wait to post pics of my gorgeous boy . I will try and snap some photos of him tomorrow.

How hard is it to bring your dog home with you when your tour in Germany is over? Something I've always been curious about.

A friend of mine was stationed in Germany and bought a Dalmatian puppy while she was there. The Air Force paid for the dog to be shipped back because it was considered her property.

And welcome WhiteShepherdSlave! Congrats on the puppy, can't wait for the pictures!

it is actually easier to bring them from germany to the states than it is to bring them here from the us. All they really need is a health cert and a passport I believe.

Hey there, welcome!!! I see you are located in Kaiserslautern. Are you stationed at Vogelweh? Kaiserslautern was my stomping ground. Was born there LOL. Hope you enjoy your tour. Thank you for serving. My little heart jumped a beat when I read my birth town's name
