Hello from Minnesota

Hello, I recently came across this forum when we were deciding if we wanted to get a GSD puppy or adopt and older GSD. Well we ended up adopting a puppy and she is now 11 weeks old. We have worked on Sit, Lay down and Shake. Her attention span can be short at times, but she is just a puppy.

This is my first GSD, I work in law enforcement and knew this was the dog I wanted after recommendations from friends and coworkers.

If anyone knows any good trainers in Minnesota let me know.

Looks like her name is Sasha- she's adorable! And you're right, her attention span is probably 3 secs at the most. Glad you found the site, you'll get a lot of really good information.

If you are in Forest Lake, you should look up Total Recall.

Yes, Dalton and I went there when he was a puppy (about 10 years ago). Sue is wonderful and has worked/trained with many GSDs. Their training place is actually in Hugo on Hwy 61 just before town (coming from the north).

Also, if you feel an itch to check out Schutzhund (being in LE it might interest you) come visit us over in Isanti. 11 weeks might be a good time to introduce her to the club. www.scvsv.com

look at neuman k9 .com hes the best ! master dog trainer ! my pups ther now ! till dec , checkout all his vids to great pepeol , they send me pics and weekly updates , 5 stars !

Vinne I will definatly check out the St Croix Valley Schutzhund Club. I didnt know there was one in the area.

Also our puppies full name is Jaedyn's Sasha. We haven't registered through AKC yet but we are thinking of adding something like Jaedyn's Sasha Jewel or Sunshine. Something like that. Not sure though if we will its up to by beautiful 8 year old daughter as we co own the dog. She will be using Sasha for the 4h dog project here in Minnesota.
