My pup could be crated for 7 hours overnight and not make a mess from 3 mos. on(restricted water after 9). We went out a LOT from about 3 mos. - 5 mos. during the day. Now he can go 3-4 hours during the day without having to go out. He is 7 1/2 mos.

That dog is probably best fed 2-3 times a day, which means extra potty visits. My female is probably average in most respects and she likes to go 3 times a day but would be OK with 2. The type of food is also a factor. You will get 99 different pieces of advice on that. I am happy with kibble and so is my dog. The higher the quality the better (and usually the less input/output).
Thanks for advice! She is fine looking. We just have to evaluate her. And food: yes, there are different opinions from everyone!!! I am curious: I intend to keep a crate in my SUV, I drive around in the city a lot. At what age is it okay to take a dog around the you? My former female went everywhere, but she was of course older. Advice?
