I'm in the Orlando area myself. Your dogs are absolutely gorgeous! I am wanting to buy a pair myself. Just do not think I have the time to dedicate to them. I work with GSDs at work and would love my own! If I didn't like my current assignment so much, I'd try to transfer out and work with them at work too! All my friends have labs mostly, a few muts and other popular brands. No one has any GSDs. I'd love to meet local people with some GSD too see how they are treating their homes, etc.

HAHA! that's usually the last question I ever get asked, it's always, "how much are you spending, money, time, etc." Truth is I got very lucky I think, they're both fairly mellow. I LOVE the boy/girl pair, it wasn't planned that way. My husband wanted a girl and I wanted a boy. We got both because I have the time to spend with them since I'm a stay at home mom. No one I know has a GSD either and there's only one other person on the street that even has a dog and he's an unruly boxer (unruly because the owners allow it)
I grew up with a golden retriever and when she died, my mother got a horrible, awful poodle. One of the primpy kinds that had bows and painted finger nails. I always say that my hatred of poodles has been passed down into Bruno & Bayla because they go nuts at the sight of any of them.

Anyhow, I live in a 2500 sq ft two story house, the bottom floor is all Pergo flooring that you can see in my pics, all one big room & the top floor is all carpet which is why for now the twins are only allowed upstairs "very" supervised. I won't get busy with laundry or straightening because God only knows what kind of trouble they'd get into. Downstairs I can leave them for a couple of minutes unsupervised, like if I'm walking one of the other dogs. Much more than that and I've been in trouble. Bayla I found out the hard way loves the way that drywall gives under the pressure of her teeth and I have had to patch 3 small holes. She loves picking up a shoe and walking around with it but has yet to eat any of them. I have computer cords here and there and large glass vases on the floor and so far even with their chasing around the house, they leave a lot of things alone. Bayla's also figured out that she's big enough to put her front two paws on the counter to see what kind of goodies are up there. I simply can not keep her off the couch and she has recently found out there's water in the toilet so that's a new teaching element. Bruno is so mellow that if Bayla isn't actively playing with him, he's chilling on the floor.
Outside looking in, I've been told my dogs run my life, I don't make time for friends, I own too many dog toys, blah blah blah. But I wouldn't have it any other way. The two GSD's are more family dogs than anything, I don't hardcore push them to learn tricks or anything, although I am planning on training them for protection and tracking.
My husband wanted a new harley this year and has foregone that for the sake of having a fence installed at the house...you'll understand that a little better when I say that my yard is about 2/3's as big as a football field so the cost is huge. What person in their right mind gives up a harley for a fence? UHH, us.
He's worked with K9's as a former LEO, I've mingled with K9's since I'm former dispatch. I spent some time with the K9 officers out at training watching them. We did start obedience school at the beginning of the summer, but summer got very busy and I didn't have the time to drive all the way down to the fairgrounds, so we dropped out and have maintained basic obedience at home. I would like to get started back in it though to build on their skills.

Really the only thing they've "done" to the house is a couple small holes which was my fault and HAIR EVERYWHERE which is just a given. I invested in a great vacuum, a swiffer and the mindset that if you don't like dogs or a few hairs on your clothes when you get off my couch, feel free to not come over. And I warn people, there's a sign above my doorbell that clearly states "welcome to the zoo"
