Sounds like you need to rescue a GSD puppy. The cat needs a new friend and you need to share some love.

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. There is no feeling, and no words that come clost to that. But i wish you all the best. All of us are feeling for you, and you are in my thoughts.

I hope you and your husband find some strength in eachother, and I hope with time and strength your sadness dulls. May you retain all of the best memories you and your Yana shared, and know that you will meet again.

Kim, I did not realize until coming back to check on how you are doing that you live right across the Narrows Bridge from me. We should get together some time, whenever you are up to it!!

I would love that! I am doing a masters in teaching at CityU in Tacoma and I'm in class every Saturday. On short days, Yana used to come with me. she loved the attention and I loved the company on the long drive. I don't graduate until next May, so I will be crossing the bridge most every Saturday.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am sitting here crying about the loss and all of the kind words. My 2 yr old daughter thinks I have completely lost my mind!

I'm so so sorry for your loss, it's never easy but that pain is a reminder to all the wonderful times you had, and the fact that it was real.

There seems to be quite a few of us on the forum from Washington. I wonder if a meet-up would be feasible.

Kim, along with all the others, I am deeply and truly sorry to read of Yana's passing. My BabyGirl passed almost two years ago from the same disease, just one week after she was diagnosed. Being a single guy, she was all I had and when I came back to my empty house (she passed at my mom and dad's house), tears and sobs is all I remember.

To this day, when I read about a GSD dying, especially from hemangiosarcoma, I get this jolt, like an electric shock, in my heart. There are simply no words for the sorrow. The hardest thing for me was faking for a long time afterwards; putting on my fake smile, my fake tough outer spirit, my fake comments to family and friends that I was all right and hanging in there.

It does help to read about other dogs. Youtube has some amazing memorial vids that people have posted in honor of their beloved GSD's who have passed, but you need to be a glutton for punishment to watch those (which I did, hours and hours, night after night LOL).

As others have said, your Yana was very beautiful. Heck, she still is beautiful in heaven, where angels keep her in loving care until you hold her in your arms again. My sincere thoughts and prayers for you and yours.
