Hello from Iowa
I'm new here, my name is Aimee. I do not own a GSD at this time, but I think that it's a breed that would be a good fit for us, and I am strongly considering one down the road.
I live in Iowa with my husband and toddler daughter. We are both librarians, and I was a vet tech for 12 1/2 years before that. I did canine behavioral consultations on the side & taught some obedience classes, but have mostly stopped working with animals professionally. Dogs are 9-year-old Grant the AmStaf, and 6-year-old Harry the Malinois. You can click on each of their names for more pictures, videos, and pedigree information. Grant goes to work with me as "Grant the Library Dog." Looking forward to "meeting" you all

The more I think about it, the more I think that a GSD would be the right dog for us. I don't want any more Pit Bull type dogs due to BSL scares, and I love my Malinois, but would like something like him that isn't such a big noodlehead  My childhood dream dog was a black GSD. I'd like to own that dog someday

welcome to the board! Cool that you can take Grant to work with you!
I am a malinois "fan" tho right now I have a gsd and 2 aussies..if you can handle a mal, a gsd is a piece of cake

Hey, welcome to the forums. You're so lucky you can take your dog to work with you. In my previous job we could do that, but definitely not the job I have now. I hope you can get your black GSD

Hi and welcome!! If you have a Mal, GSDs are a totally easy!lol.My cousin lives in Iowa!
I love black GSDs too! I got my own from my shelter I love him to death! Total love bug too!
