Default leave it command for deaf dog

Does anyone know what signal I would use for the "leave it" command for a deaf dog?

I stomped the floor to get attention with my deaf dog. Does not work outside, but in the house it's very effective.

If I had a deaf dog I'd get an e collar with a vibration setting and train him to look at me when he felt the pulses and then I'd give some sort of hand signal from there.

I agree with Baillif on the e collar with a vibration. Gentle Leader has one that is used with deaf dogs. For the hand signal, your hand - palm up facing the dog, may work.

I agree, using the collar might be your best bet. The only other advice I can offer is that I use a signal of putting my hand under the dog's mouth and opening/closing my hand once. I lose my voice for several days during season changes and whenever I get a bad cold, so I built in hand signals into training for when I can't talk. I learned the signals from my mum who had several deaf dogs over the years.
