Default Butt out

How do I keep my dogs butt in for a sit? Sometimes she does it right and other times it isn't right. I really don't know how to show her the difference without making her get up and redo it. In class they teach us to move the dog's butt as they sit but my dog is so long I have to look half the time I don't even know her sit wasn't correct unless I look over the entire dog. The front part of here will be fine but that butt is often out of place.

Are you training with a treat? If you are it is kind of simple. When you give her the SIT command, with your left hand, show her the treat and put it out beyond the left side of her head, and then back up over her head to get her to sit. By angling her head away from you -- watching the treat, the butt comes in next to your leg.

It's worth a try. Good luck.

I had so many typo's in the above op that I'm shocked you understood me. The sad thing is I did reread and apparently only saw what i wanted to see.

I'll give that a try. I do use treats as one of my forms of rewards. I guess in this case she will be looking away from but it will be worth it to get the proper sit.

You can also practice next to a wall. Dog is next to the wall, the wall will straighten the sit
