Many people on here use their dogs for herding livestock? Sheep? Cattle?
I live in the UK where sheep dogs are Border Collies. But I'd love to have my wgsd herding. Show up all those vicious collies!

GSDs are in the herding group, so sure, they should have the natural ability - some more than others. If there is a herding club in your area, maybe they offer lessons, or can give you a referral to a trainer. I do know sometimes they learn best from another dog - at least that is what my uncle did on his dairy farm - he would get a new pup when old Shep was young enough to teach the pup how to herd.

My SO's family has hunted deer for generations, and their late Queensland Heeler as well as their Border Collie both taught our Duke how to "herd" the deer through the woods (really its more like moving as a pack to drive the deer within view of hunters). He's a phenomenal hunting dog and I'd be curious to see if he has any natural drive with livestock.
