Not sure if this is in the right spot.

Sometimes I need to go outback, and can't take Ziva with me (cutting down trees, fixing the fence other unsafe things) . I usually crate her but she goes crazy if she hears me going out the back door. Will she ever learn?

Perhaps taking her with you and tying her nearby where she can't be harmed or get into trouble? I never leave my dogs except to go to work or if the weather is too hot.

I say "i'll be back" and worked on saying it & coming back in the room and staying gone longer each time. Now I can leave and will say "i'll be back" without the crying & barking.

I always take Stryder with me. We have a fenced in back/side yard. If we are out front, I will tie him on a tie out that we have in the front yard. Sorry I am of no assistance.

How about a little of both? Do some "I'll be back" when you can't tie her nearby where you are working.
Your dog has to learn to cope with both situations.

Agreed. My boy goes with me whenever possible esp. if chores are being done around our property but sometimes it's not possible for him to go with me (work, school, etc.) and he must be able to settle down in his crate.
