Hello Everyone.
For those of you who have seen my past post I want you to know that we changed Koda's food to Innova and she has gained 4 lbs. We are very happy. But now she has been on Raw for 2 days and wow her poops are the best. ha ha. We will see how it goes on the Raw. Now for my problem. I have a big picture window and I can't get her to stop barking when she sees people or especially dogs passing by. We have tried standing in front of her until she submits and walks away. We have tried an electric collar. We have tried a water squirt bottle. So far nothing has worked. If anyone has any other ideas of what we can try, I would really appreciate it. Thanks and Happy Mother's Day to all the GSD Mom's.

When she barks, say "quiet" and in the split second when she pauses between barks, click your clicker and say "good quiet!" She will stop and look at you because of the click, to get the treat. I did this a few times and now she quiets right down if I say quiet anytime.

i would invite family, friends and neighbors
to walk past the window. i would have the people walk past several times a day. you're setting her up but you use that time for training.

Remember to reward even the slightest pause. Don't expect perfection. Don't wait till she knows she is right, let her figure that out with time. Reward the correct behavior as soon as it happens.
Barking out the window makes her feel she is doing a great job at making the people move on. She thinks she is doing right. Give her time to get it right.

I'm having the same problem... But, Harley is jumping up on the couch too (where the window is), a big "NO NO" in my house! I tell him "off" and he gets down, but it doesn't stop him from jumping up the next time he feels like it. Like having a petulant teenager in my home...
