Ditto can heel, if i put one finger under her collar she will stay at my side with no problem ( still working on that when distractions such as strangers come up) BUT as soon as I move my finger, she goes to the end of her lead. Now generally when I walk her, I don't mind her being at the end, but at times it is appropriate for her to be at my side. How do I get her to stay there without having to keep my finger there?

What's your dog class instructor recommending? Usually they start very gradually, maybe with just focus and attention so it's much easier for dog and handler?
What training collar did they recommend? Is it fitted properly? HOw about the leash? I know when I followed directions in class and practiced during the week we did pretty darn well! Without the classes I was MUCH more frustrated and my poor pup was so confused!!!

I dont take any of my dogs to classes. As for her collar and leash, they are just your everyday collar and leash. Her collar is fitted loosely as so never pulls out from it and if she did she would come back to me anyway. I mostly ask this for crowd situations where she needs to be at my side focused ( i dont like to hold her collar in a crowd because then people assume she is aggressive and dont approach)
