Nero Herding (well kinda)

So we have 2 chickens and Nero has been interested in them so we let them meet and Nero did this.

I have 0 experience with herding but does it look like he has the herding instinct I have been hearing about on these forums?

He does seem to show some instinct for "going to the head" of the chickens, but he will need some training to prevent the little episodes of "chase" he also exhibited.

Now my next question is how do i get into the sport? He still needs to get better with his OB but after that where do i find clubs or herding organizations?

I found our herding trainer from my local obedience club- the trainer used to be a member. You can google 'herding training facilities' and 'obedience training club' things like that. Also look on the AKC website for herding trials and go to one. I have to warn you, it's addictive! You'll need to make sure Nero has a consistent 'down' especially at a distance.
