Can't believe no one is going to the Nationals for herding! They've got ducks and sheep AND you can even do the temperament tests just to see your dogs natural talent (no practice for this!!). Remember all the events are for ALL our dogs from a pup at their first show to higher levels! Click here for info Springfield Ohio! Worst part is the herding is on the same days as agility, or I'd at least do the temperament tests.....Drat.

I have a 3 month old pup now ... at that time he would be a little over 4 months old. Is this something I should look into?

Not sure of the age for the Temperament tests, info may be on site or others may chime in.
The show is REALLY fun to attend though. Freaking GSD's everywhere you look! And busy schedules with so much to see and enjoy. Different 'flavors' of GSD's can very eye opening! Next year is in Utah so that's not going to happen for me, too far to pretend I can easily drive there!

Most instinct and temp tests are for dogs a year and older.
I had planned on going until I got told I was deploying. Got my premium list the other day.

I'm planning on going and have my girl, Jetta, entered in the herding instinct test and temp test for my boy Dre'. I'd like to enter Jetta a second time in the herding instinct but hate to waste my money in the event she doens't do well the first time! She's entered in the round pen test, but wondered if the other type of herding test (tending) would be something worth trying with her also. Has anyone done that style and any info on it to offer??

I considered entering Strauss.Agility seems to be the only part of the national where nobody is snarking at everybody else....
