Our pup just threw up 2 times today. The vomit looks like it's a mix of saliva and mucus. We started feeding him Royal Canin starter a few weeks backs and also got him dewormed a while ago. When he took a dump last week, there was this huge worm like thing on his stool.
Today, I took em outside, he took a dump, on the way inside he licked/ate something and once he got in thee room, he vomited and then went to sleep. Should we be concerned? The second time around when he vomited, he licked it and ate it before I could take him away. He is also 40 days old as of today. How he vomited was, he bent his whole body, and his head was facing down and it looked like, he was forcing it out or something. He is active and still naps alot but this ordeal has me really concerned.
It looks like problems are just jumping onto us. Haha.
He's doing good, but whilew my G'pa was wiping him, our pup shouted as in get hurt and his teeth hit my G'pa's finger. He bled. We went to the doctor (not vet) and she said he needed to get rabies shot. A huge arguement ensued and she said he should be given a TT. Now, my G'pa is worried sick. We told him since it's a puppy he doesn't need to worry. Should we be concerned? I mean, Toby is always biting me and my Dad. I bled once and I applied some disinfectant on the small wound. My dad who's brave af barely cares about the cuts.
Well for starters he is less than 6 weeks old and way too young to have been removed from mom and siblings. Between 6 and 8 weeks puppies learn bite inhibition from their siblings and mom. You would do well to read the entire puppy section so that you can teach him slowly and consistently bite inhibition. You might want to read about the challenges created when you remove the puppy at such a young age. Not impossible to work with but you should pay attention. For starters get lots of toys to redirect his bites from you to the bite toys.
Where do you live? How old are you? If in the US I doubt that rabies is a concern and that washing with soap and water is the best course. He is too young for a rabies shot anyway. But make sure that he gets all his vaccines according to your vet's recommendations.
With vomiting you just want to watch things. Puppies do vomit. But you want to watch it. Most important is that they continue to drink clean water. They can dehydrate very quickly when they are little. Is he still drinking water? Again at such a young age you want to watch everything carefully.
Isn't this the pup that's also been exposed to street dogs that live around your home, where you let the pup walk? My recollection is you live outside the US/Canada, right?
What country are you in? There is rabies risk in those street dogs in many parts of the world--real, serious risk. Some countries have pretty alarming rabies incidence; it's quite rare in others. Whether the pup has had enough contact, I don't know.
A 6 week old pup vomiting would have me at the vet. Ask the vet whether the wormer you used previously works on this type of worm that is in the poop. Vomiting in puppies is very concerning.
Yes. I'm from India. Lotta street dogs heree and we have a Daschund which we haven't introduced to the pup yet. Near our house, there areen't no street dogs or such and me or my parents always watch him and walk with him when he's outside.

India. 19 years old. And yes, we give him water when he wants to. The vet said that he should be given the vac. When he's 42 days old to be exact. He's very active right now and he's playing alot too.
