Never a dull moment.
Last night at about 10, I took my 9 month old puppy for his last business walk of the day. It was dark but I noticed a bunched up piece of aluminum foil next to his poop. Wasn't sure if it was already there or if he produced it. Then at 3 AM he woke me up to go out. Had a custard poop. This morning about 7:30 AM we went out for our normal business...another custard poop. Back inside and he threw up another small piece of aluminum foil and a piece of soft rubber. I went out to examine the prior poops and found some unidentified small soft object in the poop with the foil from last night. The two soft ones didn't have any added ingredients....
Called ER vet who suggested going to my regular vet for xray. Which I did. Nothing obvious anywhere. Vet gave me high fiber canned food to feed him with rice for the next few days. Also suggested metronidazole for a few days. If he starts vomiting it's off the the ER vet for scoping and/or surgery, but my regular vet thinks he is fine. Hope that is true!
He was acting totally normal...playing, eating, etc. Now he is somewhat out of it as he had sedation this morning. Poor guy. Vet said unfortunately not everything shows up clearly on an xray. There was no sign of an obstruction which I guess is the concern.
So I am now a nervous wreck.... And I cannot for the life of me think of where he got into anything in my house or yard. He was at a Dog Camp/Training on Thursday.... I am debating whether or not to call them and ask them if they noticed him eating anything he shouldn't have. But you would think they would have said something to me....????
