Does anyone have a good source of information on auto immune issues in dogs like books or Web pages?* Even if it is just a general book of auto immune disease or has good info that would still apply to dogs?
I've posted before ......my girl is 6 yo* and on vet hydrolized protien diet & 600-750 mg of milk thistle and 1/2 teas. Physillium husk.* She is on cyclosporine 200 MG currently since her pafs flared up after an initial diagnosis & remisson. I recently added 500 mg vitamin c. She also had short dose of flagyl which I think she could have used another round of because pus became less & more gummy toward end of course.
I take her back to the vet Saturday and although her open fistula is pretty small I'm concerned the vet is going to send me to a specialist.* My girl is in great spirits and having a good time running around in this great weather we are having.* I'm afraid her fistula will get worse even though right now it seems controlled.
Her allergies have improved on this dog food & medication...itching less and her skin no longer crawls when you pet her.
Tonight when I cleaned her up it looked like there may be a couple of other spots near it as well.maybe, I think they looked like...small "pits" maybe but they didn't look to be open as the one is.....but I am starting to hit the panic button in thinking they might open up...although the one that is open did not start as a pit just a pin hole.** But she is on the cyclo at 200 MG right now so if more open up now I would really be bamboozled!!!!** Thats why I am looking for more info so I can get a better understanding of the underlying issue.
If the vet sends me to a specialist I would prefer to see a DVM homeopath* 1st. Does anyone know of a good one in northern illinois or southern wisconsin?
I appreciate the help!
