Hi Rain!
Sounds like your pup has a pretty bad case!
There are many chemical based products you could use.The following are some suggestions to consider from a "holistic" point of view. ("holistic" = treating the body as a whole, rather than just treating the "disease")
Mange and yeast can go hand in hand, so I’d suggest changing to a raw diet or a food like Ziwi Peak (see below) whose main ingredients are meat.
Per Dr. J. Thomason:
“
Demodex mites feed on cellular proteins, systemic yeast, dietary yeast and/or sugar in the system. Remember, mites feed on the yeast living in the body, and systemic yeast feed on nutritional yeast and sugars (carbohydrates/vegetables and grains). If you want to break the cycle and weaken or starve the systemic yeast so that the mites are not able to colonize in the pores. do NOT feed grains or vegetables in the diet (NO WHEAT, OATS, CORN, BARLEY, MILLET OR YEAST OF ANY KIND which includes brewers or nutritional yeast).
CONVENTIONAL/ALLOPATHIC TREATMENT
A lot of Veterinarians in conventional veterinary medicine still use a toxic chemical called Amitraz or Ivermectin to kill the mites. These products can reduce the function of the hypothalamus, which helps regulate the body's metabolism by controlling hormone release in the body. Do a search on Ivermectin and Amtrak and it being a trigger for immune-mediated diseases.”

Note: That certain ingredients in food always seem to rear their ugly heads to make dogs itch or cause skin problems. In the forefront is
Chicken and its derivatives (Cartilage, Fat, Eggs, etc.), also Grains, Flax, and Yeast supplements. Be sure to read all ingredient labels carefully. I'm not saying this has anything to do with mites, just skin issues in general.
Commercially prepared diets MUST be COMPLETE & BALANCED. AND must state "for all life stages" when feeding a puppy. Always check for the proper Calcium/Phosphorus levels for a pup.

If not raw, I would suggest
ZiwiPeak AIR Dried moist food: ZiwiPeak pet food is a complete, natural balanced real-meat diet prepared with care in New Zealand. All of our natural ingredients are sourced from the green, free range farms and blue, pristine oceans of New Zealand.
The twin stage process eliminates pathogenic bacteria, such as e.coli, salmonella and listeria, while protecting the natural nutrition of our ingredients. As a further safety step, our products are mandatory tested and only released for sale after approval by the New Zealand government's regulatory authorities.
Air-drying is a technique that has been used for centuries to naturally preserve meats. Our modern method stays true to this artisan approach, while eliminating the need for artificial preservatives, salts, sugars or glycerines. Our slow, gentle, twin-stage air-drying process crafts a food that is as nutrient-dense and digestible as a completely raw diet but safe, clean to handle and can store for up to 21 months.
Beef: A complete, balance diet of ranch raised beef meat and organs, this protein rich meal features delicious red meat and nutrient dense organs. It also includes New Zealand green-lipped mussels, a natural source of chondroitin for joint support, and herbs, vitamins and minerals, making it suitable for all breeds and life stages.

I would also Highly suggest a
quality Digestive Enzyme (helps to assimilate food) & a ProBiotic (keeps the "good" bacteria in the gut). Since
about 75% of the immune system lies in the gut (the immune system is the body’s main defense against issues. It also helps fight allergens) it is
very important to keep it extremely healthy.
Note that some chemicals can weaken a dogs’ immune system.

Here is a natural/holistic approach to treating Mange:
Demodectic/mites: a combination of Lavender oil mixed with a carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil or Rose Hip Seed Oil can be used topically for mange treatment. 1 part Lavender Essential Oil to 10 parts carrier oil.
Spike Lavender Essential Oil:

Apply to affected areas twice daily or alternate with fresh lemon juice. This helps to kill the mites without any chemicals that could pull down the immune system.
Another more natural approach:
First, bath dog with a
Benzoyl Peroxide Shampoo that flushes and opens skin, pores and follicles where the mites hide. Suggestion: DAVIS Benzoyl Peroxide Pet Shampoo:

Vet Organic’s Mange Treatment:

all-natural ingredients including Organic Calendula Extract, Organic Comfrey Root Extract, Citric & Boric Acid, and Ionic Silver. Each ingredient is specifically chosen for its
documented effectson supporting the skin and rendering the environment inhospitable to parasites.
*"Repeat every other day for 1 week and then once per week until no longer needed.
*Do not bathe dog on the day using this product."
Hope this helps!
