Mishka started scratching yesterday, and this morning her face and one side is swollen. She is never unsupervised and never eats things from the floor. She got a cat scratch yesterday, but other than that her day was the same. Any of you had experience with this? Attachment 238058 this is how she looks today
Attachment 238066 this is her normally

Hopefully it's nothing serious, an allergic reaction most likely

I wonder if she is reacting to the cat scratch? Whas that on her face?

Lucky got stung by a bee and his face swelled up.It kind of looked like Mishka's. On the other hand I've had swelling after being scratched by a cat.

The vet said it looked like a bad reaction to a bug bite, and when I took her out to the bathroom, she didn't want to go to her usual spot. She was quite against walking anywhere near it.. So I guess I will be checking for underground pests. They gave her a steroid shot and she is acting herself again.

We have ground wasps here, they can be pretty nasty. Perhaps an underground nest where she normally does her bathroom duties?

if you find an underground nest, at night just poor some gas into the nest. no need to light with a match, the nest will be gone.

Thanks, looked around tonight but didn't see anything. I'm planning to cut the grass really short now so nothing can hide anymore.

Oh no....poor Mishka.

If I recall correctly you live in the south yes?

Fire ants sure can cause that kind of reaction too.

I hope she is all better soon!
