Skin/Flea infection help (Graphic Image Warning)

Hey guys, my buddy Luka has a pretty bad flea infection according to the vet. They shaved his fur, and there's a really nasty smelling/looking green rash on his skin.

Has anyone dealt with this type of condition before? I've never seen a rash like this, and I'm kind of worried.

I'm sorry to hear that. What flea medication do you use?. Is it spot on or oral? Can it be side effect of spot on treatment?. Hope he gets better soon, it seems like there is a superficial skin infection as well.

I'm not a vet, but did work as a vet tech for several years. Those look like they could be hot spots. Did your vet tell you that those spots were from the fleas? Did he give you a wash or topical ointment? What was his diagnosis?

We had a bad flea infestation this year too and I think the fleas might have developed a resistance to the spot on treatment I used. My shepherd developed what looked to be a flea allergy and had massive hair loss, itching and hot spots.
After getting the fleas under control in the environment and on all the animals-(this took over a month)-I started my shepherd on a product called "PetImmune" by Palladius health and nutrition.
Within 3 weeks I could see hair regrowth, shine to the coat, itching stopped, hot spots resolved and shedding decreased by at least 85%. I know getting the fleas under control helped a lot too, however, I did see a vast improvement in his overall well being and bodily functions.
I was going to change him to a different product like the PetImmune, but after further research I decided to keep him on it and a plus- it went on-sale ($19.97/ec) with free shipping if you bought 2 bags-Two bags will last my 90lb shepherd roughly 3-4 months now that I have dosed him to a lower amount to maintain him.
I can get you the link if you want it.

The vet gave us NexGard for the fleas. And sorry I should have specified, that lesion thing was there on day 1, it didn't develop after he started taking the medicine

The vet was unfortunately very vague on her description, she said it's "raw" from the fleas, and no she didn't give us any wash or aintment, just pills and a 3 month supply of flea medication.

Sorry, it's on his lower back, right above where his tail starts. And yes, we swim with him in our pool every other day.
