Default Possible pink eye??

Hello. I am not quite sure what to think. Just the other day I noticed my girl (9 months) had a big green eye booger that looked pretty slimy ish?? Didn't really know what to think but "let's wipe that off". Then the next night (last night) I noticed a bigger one and as I was giving her a treat I noticed the white in her right eye (same eye from the greenish stuff) is red. My first thought was pink eye. Then I questioned if dogs can get pink eye. She only has it in the one eye. I did some research and from my research they can! Also in the article I was reading it said it could be allergies? we did just start giving these new treats.... So I'm going to stop with those to see if things get better. Has anyone else had this happen to one of their dogs before? How serious is this? Should I rush her to the vet??? Is it something she will overcome on her own?

Thanks for any advice

Yep, time for the vet. Eye infections get bad pretty quickly. You don't mess around with eyes.

Yes, green gunk typically means infection and you want to treat so that you don't have more problems. They can get this from windy days, running through tall grass, etc. If you use some artificial tears after they are out, that can sometimes prevent this stuff if they are prone to it, but once it's infected, they usually need treatment.
