Infection/weird sore on dogs stomach...
Just found this on my dogs stomach area. Any clue what this could be? Gonna try to get him into vet tomorrow.

He hasn't had any issues, and only thing he has done recently is he went to the groomers Wednesday last week and then Friday or Saturday he was playing in this field that has grass/bushes/sticker bushes about a foot taller than he is.

I'm currently treating a staph infection on my dog's stomach. It looks at least a little like that, but I'm no expert.

Looks like staph. Go to the vet, and get the dog on antibiotics. It will go away

Get some Vetericyn, spray area and follow up with some RAW organic cold pressed coconut oil.

Feed it too (the CO), 1tsp/10 lbs of body weight, work up slowly to max dose over 2-3 weeks

Just an update, took dog down to the vet this AM.

Said he has a skin infection, not very serious.

Gave me some Cephalexin which is an antibiotic, and then some Prednisone which is a steroid.

They said, he probably got it from having some raw skin after being groomed and playing in the field. They did said it could have been from quite a few different things, but that was probably most likely.

So hopefully he gets better soon!

Along with his oral antibiotic and steroid, get vetericyn spray and use that a few times a day on his wounds. It will help heal much faster

Cephalexin is one thing...the steroids is overkill. New vet time, one who won't drug your dog to death.

This will return once off the ceph and steroids, but will come back worse. Seen it time and time again on here

My dof use to get a rash on his stomach and under arms that would spread. The vet siad it was an allergic reaction and provided antibiotics, but it always came back. I was washing his stomach and underarms with water downed providone iodine. That worked and kept it away. Then I switched food and it never came back. I no longer need to use the iodine wash.
