Default wound

Hi all on thursday I noticed a small scratch on clay back it was so small I thought nothing of it and now it's a fair size bigger looks infected and smells it to the only vets appointment i could get was for monday morning our vet dosent offer an emergency service im just wondering if I should attempt to clean it and if so what would be best to use I've cut away some of the hairs that had got stuck together I'm sure it's a lot bigger than what I can see of it I have taken some photos so you can see they aren't great though because of all his hair also if anyone thinks I should try and get an emergency appointment at a different vets please let me know thank you for any advice you can offer

i would put some Vetericyn on it and call the vet back and ask it you can just stop in for some antibiotics. but that's just me, or i know that's what my wife would do anyways.

You need to get providone iodine. Dilute it with water and cleanse the would well. An antibiotic ointment from your pharmacy would be good, too. If it does not get better, see the vet.

Looks like it could be infected, no e vets around? If not, trim the hair around it, keep it clean and maybe use vetericyn or perhaps neosporin until you can be seen. Tuke had a small scratch from barbwire last year, didn't get infected, but she licked it and it about tripled in size. Took a few weeks for the wound to heal up and a lot longer for the patch of hair to grow back.

To add, I would clip/shave the fur away from the area. I like vetericyn, I use it for everything, yes I would clean it up really good first..Looks in the 3rd pic maybe a small hole/bite mark?
