Default Ehrlichiosis in GSDs and Dobermans?

When the vet told me that Varick had Ehrlichiosis, she gave me an informative packet on the disease. I read it, and was a bit confused....
It said that the disease is "most severe in German Shepherds and Doberman Pinschers."
Is this true? If so, why these two breeds?

I'm sorry.
Has yours ever shown symptoms? I haven't noticed a change in Varick, and hopefully, I won't at all.

no, they've never been 'clinical', but I do keep a close eye on anything unusual.

All my dogs have tested positive for Lyme or erlichia at one time or another. Honestly I've never had a problem after treatment. Ticks are horrible by me.

Agreed!
I was so surprised. I've never had a problem before. When the vet tested, I thought nothing of it.
