Default Ear suddenly flopped over

Hi, I wasn't sure where to post this. I am the proud mommy of a 6-month-old shepherd named Axel. His ears have been up since we brought him home at 10 weeks. Now this evening I noticed his right ear has suddenly flopped over. The only reason I'm posting is because I'm wondering if there's anything to be concerned about. I don't care how his ears look, but the floppy ear seems to be bothering him. He is bite constantly shaking his head back and forth and I'm not sure if it's because he's not used to the sensation or if there's something wrong. If it's still bothering him in the morning I'm going to call the vet, but I'm just looking for other's experiences. He hasn't been playing with any other dogs and other than a pretty good collision with a metal closet door while he was zooming around I can't think of anything that could have damaged the ear. TIA

Could be yeast? Not sure if that would damage the ear though.

If it is a hematoma the thing will swell up in a couple of days and may never stand up again even after treatment/surgery. Have it checked out quick, may be just an infection.

Thanks so much for the replies. We'll be visiting the vet today to get it checked out. I'm fine with it not going back up, it just seems to be bothering him.
