degenerative myelopathy testing companies

How do you decide which company to choose for this very important test? Do all companies use the same testing technique? Is there some sort of Consumer Reports style web site to help evaluate companies?

How accurate are the tests - the number of false positives and negatives? Does the rate of accurate tests very from company to company?

Excellent, thanks. I'll look at the web site.

Have there been any studies done on the results of the test vs real life occurence of the disease?

Pretty much everyone I know of who has done these used DDC.....the OFA just started offering recently - I wonder what lab they send theirs to? I like the DDC because you can test for long coat gene and color such as recessive black or for show people, I think even a black mask, at the same time for discounted pricing.

I have done several via DDC

That is the one that I have used . Their findings are accepted by the OFA .

Just took out a spare kit that I keep in my drawer . 1 800 625 0874
on their brochure they state " All DNA testing data is thoroughly reviewed by one of our experienced PhD geneticists before the final report is signed and released to you . DDC Veterinary's DNA reports are recognized by several industry organizations , including the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
