Bravo Recall....listeria....should I be worried?

Just got a recall notice from Bravo. Of course I have some of the recalled product. And of course I fed it to my girl earlier this week. And of course I am going on vacation tomorrow and Stella is being boarded. I am freaking out!!!
Funny thing is she didn't really eat the food when I gave it to her. But when I gave her different food, she did.
Should I be worried? Please say no.....

Kathy

Listeria can be life threatening. She can be started on a course of antibiotics as a preventative measure.

Otherwise make sure the boarding facility works with an emergency vet that she could be taken to if she did get sick, I would contact said vet to approve treatment just in case, and then make sure the boarding kennel keeps a close eye on her. ANY signs of illness, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, circling, drooping face, etc... she should be taken to a vet immediately and started on treatment.

The dates need to be checked carefully. I have the same lot for the turkey balance recall but the dates are different.

Spoke to my vet and an ER vet tech at a different facility. Also called Bravo. My understanding after speaking to them is that the threat is greater for me or whoever handled the food. Normally a healthy dog should not get listeria. I did however let the boarding facility know the situation. Fortunately a friend of mine works there and will watch Stella carefully. I also let my vet know that the boarding facility has permission to treat Stella in the event of an emergency.

The food I had did not test positive for listeria but is being recalled as a precaution, as it was made in the same facility on the same day. I think it was beef and turkey that was affected. I had lamb and Stella turned her nose up at it. She may have eaten some....really not sure. She seems ok and acting normally. No diarrhea or vomiting.

Neither vet I spoke to suggested antibiotics as a precaution...

The dates on mine are blurred so it might be within the timeframe or not. Can't read for sure if it said 2015 or 2016.....
