Default Senior dog getting hot

Hi do you guys have any experience with cooling vests? If so do they work? My brother dog acts like he's going through menopause. I say that because he's hot a lot. He wants to go out constantly and will nap but frequently he also comes in and out constantly. He LOVES it when we get snow. The vet said it's because of his diabetes and age.

My dad takes him to the vet 2-4 times a month. Another appointment tomorrow to discuss this. The doc started him on some Chinese stuff but it's gotten worse.

He's 13, diabetic, heart murmur. He's on a mix of can and home cooked.

My dad is very concerned and feels a little lost how to help him.

We did lower the heat to 68, which seems to have helped some.

THANK YOU

Is the vet sure it's not an infection?

I am curious to see the answers to this too. My senior dog also struggles with the heat. Last summer was terrible. No infections for my guy. He does have some pain. We have him on Metacam and he has blood work at the vet every 6 months.
