What exactly is it? Zeus has pyoderma on his belly with a dry crusty ring. and pimple like bumps on his groin area and tummy.

Uh-oh, I thought you were talking about lip fold, penaten is what I use for that, not sure about elsewhere, hopefully someone can clarify, sorry if this is incorrect.

Pyoderma in Dogs | Definition, Causes & Treatment | VCA Animal Hospitals

My dog had pyoderma on her belly when we got her. Vet put her on a antibiotics for a week. She had a recurrence after her second set of shots and did another week of antibiotics. The 3rd time I started her on coconut oil orally and topically and it cleared up on it's own.

Although the linked site above says antibiotics are prescribed for 2-6 weeks. My VCA vet said she would not prescribe more than 1 week at a time in a young pup as their immune system is fragile and their weight changes to rapidly for accurate dosing.

Echo has struggled with pyoderma for a long time, both on lip folds and on patches of skin. Panaten and coconut oil and patience are my go-to remedies.
