Default Stupid Ice!!!!

He wiped out on the ice last week. Looked like Scooby Doo :/

He was slightly favoring it Thursday , favoring it more Friday ..turned into a limp over the weekend. SO I have a vet appointment for pm today.

It is his front left leg , now when he walks it looks like his pastern is giving out . It did not look bad like that until Sunday..figured resting it , and his joint supplements would do the trick. Guess not :? At 11 months old it is super hard to keep him quiet .

Anyway , I am pretty concerned with the way that pastern looks when he puts weight on it. So..wish me luck.

This vet is a really good vet too..but not pro raw feeding . So I will have to deal with that tight lip look when she asks if we are still feeding raw lol

Sorry, hope he feels better soon, I certainly hear you about keeping him quiet. I have a 13 month old that is driving me bananas right now.

I hear you about the ice... Hunter cut BOTH his carpal pads on ice this winter and it took two weeks of no exercise to get him healed up. No more than a month and it will all be melted away... that is my mantra.

Hope he feels better soon!

Ouch, hopefully it's nothing serious and he heals up quickly.

Thanks I have this vision of the vet telling me he has the dog version of a blown out Achilles and needs surgery Im sure it will be rest and maybe an anti inflammatory . I hate things like this , it can't be 4pm soon enough!

Well , on the upshot I'll get to weigh him on a real scale and see how much he weighs. Right now we got his weight by my husband picking him up and getting on the scale with him. I am guessing 78 to 82 pounds is about right . My husband gets a number between there on our digital but it fluctuates each try because everybody is moving around too much lol

I hope the vet doesn't find a big problem, and he just twisted something. Good luck this afternoon! I totally agree about "stupid ice" and I'm adding "bleeping snow" to it too, because my pup's wiped out and yelped a few times now when he looses his footing racing around. Thankfully he isn't limping! But it takes all the fun out of playing outside when you're worrying about traction. Stupid bleeping winter, why won't you just leave now?

Tell me a about it! This winter has been a rough one for a lot of regions :/

Sore 4th toe , all is well as far as the injury gos. Non Steroidal anti inflammatory and he is much better today, hard to keep him quiet!

She did say he felt like he had some elbow dysplasia ? But that it may never bother him and not worth checking via x ray unless it does?

if she feels the dog has elbow dysplasia it needs to be checked out now
by the time your dog notices it it will be too late
surgery might correct it now

My yard is an ice rink right now. I do not like the dogs playing on it. Robyn tore her nail in half on the ice
