First Heat and Disinterested in Food

We have a 10 month old GSD and she just started her first heat 2 days ago. She isnt eating much and now looks very skinny. We are starting to see her ribs and hips. Is it normal for them to lose their appetite with their heat cycles? Any advice on what we can do?

My dogs never did, but it may be normal for her. Will she eat a piece of roast beef? liver? chicken? (not any dog food but 'people' food).

If she's not eating the above, I think I would head to the vet to see if something else is going on.

If she WILL eat yummy stuff, I'd just treat her as a picky eater to get her back into eating.. have you seen this ---> Pup doesn't want to eat (picky eater?)

My dog had her 1st heat a month ago and that was the first thing I noticed about it. She never had a problem eating but for the first 5 days when coming in she hardly ate. She sure did pee a lot though!

Luckily, there are all kinds of threads around here about the heat cycle and gave me some piece of mind that her "symptoms" were normal.
