Just wanted to run this by the forum to see if anyone has had a similar problem.
My nearly 7 month german shepherd got neutered about a month - month 1/2 ago. While he was on the cone, I came home from work to see him in his crate with the cone off. He found a way to get it off and got to his stitches a bit. He had 2 incisions because one of his testicles never dropped. Anyway, he was put on an anti-biotic to make sure it didnt get infected and that is where the diarrhea started. I was then given flagyl to counter the anti-biotic which we thought was giving him issues.
It seemed to help but it returned again once he was off flagyl. I took him back to the vet and check for parasites and it came back negative. The vet however told me stool checks are only 80% accurate so I am suppose to come back with more samples. He is starting to think it could be a diet issue. My dog has been on the same food pretty much since the day he was born (Fromm gold).
Has anyone had issues with food this far down the road? I just do not see it being food as he has been on it since day one. What could have possibly changed?
Any insight is appreciated, thanks! I am thinking about switching foods just to test it out. Unfortunately my dog hasn't gone conveniently where I have time to bring it to the vet.
