aspirin

am i the only one that still uses 1/2 a tab of asa for some soft tissue injuries on our dogs? this was always a vet approved treatment before dog specific pains.

No, I do as well. Always had a script for Toradol, but was always bringing it back into the vet as it expired, unused. He told me grab a bottle of low-dose aspirin to keep on hand, smallest bottle I could get - now it's expired :) Significantly less of a waste of money though. Oz maybe needs help a couple times a year, and one low dose before sleep and he's back to normal.

You can use white willow bark.
Constituent from willow bark is what aspirin is/was derived from

I do!

Yes - I do also. The enteric coated aspirin. It is easier to dose the big dogs - just one regular aspirin . I did check with the vet and he said it was fine for short term but there are prescription aspirins for dogs that prevent tummy upset. I have also seen some nonprescription kinds in the pet catalogs that come in low doses.

Sure do. Always will.

I have at times. I always have a bottle of baby aspirin on hand.

Used it for years. Haven't had a need recently but wouldn't be against it for certain things.
