Default clay update

Hi all just an update on clays lip and nose my boyfriend took him to the vet I never go because I get very anxious for him and I don't like my bad energy rubbing off on him anyway the vet confirmed he did have lip fold pyoderma and she examined his nose and noticed he had quite a deep scratch on the inside of his nostril my bf them explained we have a cat and they dont always see eye to eye the vet said that makes sense as cats claws are hollow and hold a lot of bacteria and the fact that the inside of the nostril is always moist it was a good environment for the bacteria to grow it basically got infected she also said it was already starting to heal on its own so she prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotics for both and he is to have a check up in the new year so he is ok and im no longer tearing my hair out with worry

The thing is...if it's already clearing up (the immune system doing it's job), then why 2 weeks of abx.? Hmm

huh now that I think about the antibiotics do seem to be unnecessary I guess maybe as a precaution I dont know I will have to double check with my boyfriend as to why he was given them
