OFA hip x-rays, when can I do them?

I know the ideal age is 24 months.

I have another concern and wanted to have my dog x-rayed for that and I was thinking about having her hips done at the same time. But she's a couple of weeks shy of 20 months of age.

Will OFA accept hip x-rays at this time, or do I have to wait on those?

Depending upon the dog, sedation is not always required for x-rays. I have had several dogs done without any sedation and have not had an issue.

I had her prelims done without sedation. The first shot was ok, but they realized they forgot to put film in and after that it was a bit of a struggle as she didn't like being restrained, although she wasn't horrible about it.

I think if I need to do more than one shot she'll have to be sedated, I don't want them yanking her around or taking more shots than necessary.

I thought I read that OFA requires the dog to be sedated for the xrays, or is that something I'm imagining?
